Make an Impact Through Outdoor Experiences

OUR LEGACY: Lincoln Hills holds profound historical significance as a Black-owned mountain resort that thrived during segregation.

Founded in the 1920s and flourishing until the 1960s, it provided a vital refuge for African Americans seeking respite from Jim Crow-era restrictions.

Lincoln Hills was home to Camp Nizhoni, a summer camp for African American girls operated by the Phyllis Wheatley Branch of the YWCA and the newly famous Winks Lodge, a national treasure nestled in the Rocky Mountains.
